Spark - Editing contract details for account and sending rate change

Overview

You want Aurea to add a new rate code for customers so the updated rate may reflect on the account as of the requested date (Effective Date).
Or, you want us to edit contract details for an account, that was renewed at your end, using specific values for product offeringcommodity price or rateterm months, estimated start dateend date, and LDC rate code.

You may want us to send a rate change transaction to the utility. Or, you may specify no rate changes are required in the case of the UBR market.

Solution

Please raise a support ticket with us mentioning the customer account number and the set of information (mentioned above) that you want us to update in the contract. Please specify if the rate change needs to be sent to the utility or not.
We will make the changes and inform you once done.

This request is typically raised by the client, Spark Energy, and the solution is specific to them.

Please skip steps 2 - 4 if the client does not mention updating the rate amount and specifies that no rate change is required.

Prerequisites:

  • Access to the client-specific CSR site

  • Access to the Client database

Steps:

1. Apply rate code (or product offering) to the given account using the steps Applying Rate/Rate Class or Updating Contract for Account

2. Verify if the Rate or Rate Amount in client-specific CSR is the same as the given rate using these steps:

  • Log into client-specific CSR site.
  • In the Search section on the top-right side of the screen, select Account No from the drop-down, enter the given account number in the field beside it and click on the search icon.
  • Once the resultant account information is displayed, click on the Customer Info tab.
  • Under the Billing Information section, click on the magnifying glass icon in the Rate Code row for the View Rate Details option.
  • On the resultant Rate Code Details Lookup screen, check the rate in the column Amount.

If this Amount and the given Rate/Rate Amount differ, update the rate in the Rate Detail table using these steps Updating Rate for an account
3. Update the LDC Rate Code to the given value using these steps Updating-the-LDC-Rate-Code-for-Spark-Customers
4. Send rate change transaction to the utility using these steps Triggering a Change Transaction (814_C) via CSR
